I tried both the pfctl and the ipfilter with no success. The ipfilter had gone a little further than the pfctl in which the gateway did intercept the client's first http connection and redirected the client to the splash.html page. But the client was stuck at the splash page only. (perhaps the $action was not defined correctly). I have to modified the Makefile and remove the symbolic link of ipf from /usr/local/nocat/bin/fw-wrap to the actual binary /sbin/ipf to get it working. Also, I noticed from the gateway log file that the gateway reported file missing error like the access.fw script. I think NoCat is a good solution for us to provide guest wireless access as we receive thousands of visiting scholars every year and keeping track of authorized access to our wireless network is a big undertaking and since FreeBSD is the main platform for our network infrastructure services, I would like to stay on the same platform. chui _____ From: Robert Bialecki [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 6:10 PM To: CHui Subject: Re: [NoCat] NoCat on FreeBSD ?
