Strange. Can you strace the process and tell us what it's doing, or
run it in gdb and trace it when it goes into overdrive? I would
*really* appreciate the feedback.

BTW, you may be interested in WiFiDog, made by IleSansFil, who I think
(if I remember my geography of Quebec) are neighbors of yours. They
might be able to offer some assistance. (But please do send me more
details about splashd if you can!)
