Well, hurmf, we all know that $ is only special at the end of regxps.
I would test your theory if I didn't have to wait for a real message
to come along to do it. I.e., too bad one can't do
$ noffle --test-rcfile [rcfile] < test-message
which would be great.  Of course this should write to stdout and not
disturb the database.
