Well, you won't know it for sure before you asked. Usenet via high
latency connections  is not as uncommon as you might think.

I haven't used tin in ages, so I don't know if it can score articles.
My newsreader scores articles according to the value of the status line.
Noffle adds a status header line to each article, called
'X-NOFFLE-Status:'. It's values are 'INTERESTING', 'NOT_DOWNLOADED',
'RETRIEVING_FAILED' or any combination, including an empty value.

I don't think it's desirable to store the fully downloaded article under
a new number within the group, because that would break newsreaders that
are selecting articles by their Message-Id.
