Providers are not part of the CIMOM actually, but just utilities added to a system, that the CIMOM then facilitates access through.
The way I do it is to have a client that accesses the CIMOM on each server, and each server than has providers installed, that return the data I want.
To bubble that up to a single master client, then I also install Pegasus on each client, that allows the master client to access the CIMOM on each client.
So each level accessed has a CIMOM, and each level above acts as a client when accessing that CIMOM.
And the providers necessary for the clients to also act as CIMOM servers, then are custom.

But your question is whether or not there is an inherent hierarchy of namespaces that allows this to be built in, and I don't think so.
While there is the interop namespace, and that could perhaps allow a single master client subscribe to and monitor indication events from as many server name spaces as you wanted, I would think you would still have some point where there would be too much loss of performance.
But since I don't do it that way, I am not an authority, and you should get other opinions.

Kirk,
You mentioned that "what I do myself is to arrange a heirarchy of clients". Is this a custom piece of software, or configuration logic that OpenPegasus uses? In particular, do CIMOMs have providers that allow them to be registered with other CIMOMs in a hierarchial fashion?
