I think he was kidding.
Microsoft has been pushing .Net for everything these days.
In fact, it is the reason C# exists.

And while I will agree I was wrong about the WMI interface being useful, I think 
you will find C# already will easily interface with Pegasus.
Even though WMI is DCOM based, .Net is not.
It is xml and http based, just like Pegasus.
