Veeresh, Its not mandatory to run SLP service if SLP is enabled in cimserver. Please open a bug with the traces attached when this problem happens. This problem seems to be specific to windows. Venkat From: "Yaligar, Veeresh S \(USD SRDL\)" <[email protected]> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Date: 12/10/2011 13:39 Subject: SLP configuration issue Hi All I am building CIMOM with SLP enabled for windows platform. I used the following build options. set PEGASUS_ENABLE_SLP=true set PEGASUS_USE_OPENSLP=true set PEGASUS_EXTERNAL_SLP_HOME=C:/smis-op-provider/src/openslp-1.2.1/openslp-1.2.1/win32/libslp While building I was not able to build SLPProvider.dll as it was not able to link . I guess the make file was not correct for windows. So I changed the make find as below. --------- SOURCES = peg_slp_agent.cpp include $(ROOT)/mak/library.mak ifeq ($(OS_TYPE),windows) SYS_LIBS = ws2_32.lib advapi32.lib SYS_LIBS += /libpath:$(PEGASUS_EXTERNAL_SLP_HOME)/lib slp.lib <ß This is the line added to makefile for build to succeed.**** endif run: Server $(REPOSITORY_ROOT) ------------------- With this I am able to build CIMOM with slp enabled. Now, If I start the CIMOM service when the SLP service is running . Everything works just fine. The CIMOM registers to SLP and able to see the ports of CIMOM service running through slptool But , If I start the CIMOM service when SLP service is not running then I see the CIMOM service is stopping immediately . Wondering why CIMOM service should stop if SLP is not running. I cannot send the traces as attachment due to size limit. 1. Is this makefile change required for building SLP on Windows platform? I guess its working fine on Linux platforms. 2. Is it mandatory to run SLP service if SLP is enabled in CIMOM? Or is it a bug in CIMOM on windows platform. Thank in advance Veeresh
