Hi Srini,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Actually in our option 2 we have already used the sun studio's cc
compiler. But the linker was not able to identify lot of libraries, plus
the FLAGS += +w -KPIC -mt -xildoff; were still not identifiable by the
compiler.

I am not sure about open-pegasus compile issues. But on Solaris
preferred compiler is Sun Studio.

Hi,

We are facing some problems while compiling open-pegasus on Solaris
platform. The following are the 2 ways that we tried :

OPTION 1

       Compiler Options

1.       Open-Pegasus version : 2.10

2.       Compiler : /usr/sfw/bin/gcc

3.       Make : /usr/sfw/bin/gmake

4.       PEGASUS_PLATFORM : SOLARIS_IX86_CC

Problems faced

1. Had to re-map CXX = cc to CXX = gcc; from
"platform_SOLARIS_CC.mak"

2.       Had to remove compiler flags : FLAGS += +w -KPIC -mt -xildoff;
from "platform_SOLARIS_CC.mak"

3. Had to re-map CC to gcc in "pegasus/src/utils/chksrc".

4. The compilation triggered fine; continued till some files but
then reported the following errors :

HTTPAcceptor.cpp: In member function `void
Pegasus::HTTPAcceptor::_bind()':

HTTPAcceptor.cpp:453: error: invalid conversion from `SocketLength*' to
`socklen_t*'

HTTPAcceptor.cpp:453: error:   initializing argument 3 of `int
getsockname(int, sockaddr*, socklen_t*)'

HTTPAcceptor.cpp: In member function `void
Pegasus::HTTPAcceptor::_acceptConnection()':

HTTPAcceptor.cpp:744: error: invalid conversion from `SocketLength*' to
`socklen_t*'

HTTPAcceptor.cpp:744: error:   initializing argument 3 of `int
accept(int, sockaddr*, socklen_t*)'

OPTION 2

       Compiler Options

1.       Open-Pegasus version : 2.10

2. Compiler : ucbcc (from Solaris Studio) soft linked to the "cc"
compiler

3.       Make : /usr/sfw/bin/gmake

4.       PEGASUS_PLATFORM : SOLARIS_IX86_CC

Problems faced

1.       Had to remove compiler flags : FLAGS += +w -KPIC -mt -xildoff;
from "platform_SOLARIS_CC.mak"

2. The compilation did not go through as lot of shared object
libraries were reported as unidentified by ucb-cc/cc.

Is this a known issue or am I doing anything wrong? Kindly suggest.

Regards,

Biswapratap.
