ASSOCIATORS OF queries in CMPI

I'm wondering if anyone on this list can shed some light on my quest. I believe I have a handle on the CMPI execQuery() concepts, but I have yet to find any mention of how to service an association query. I'm also looking for an example of something just to try with pegasus. I'm wondering if ASSOCIATORS OF is just a microsoft specific thing.
