I am a little out of date with HP SIM, but as it used to be, it used WMI on=
 Windows systems, and OpenPegasus on Linux systems, internally, already, an=
d is a uniform layer on top of these two lower implementations.If you are u=
sing Windows then why bother crossing over, and if using Linux why bother d=
uplicating?
If you are not using something like HP SIM, then it makes sense to install =
OpenPegasus on all systems, either Windows or Linux, so that you have a uni=
form interface.In which case it then makes sense to use WMI Mapper undernea=
th to allow OpenPegasus to access all the WMI data.But I believe the whole =
point of HP SIM is to already do that for you, and HP SIM is the uniform in=
terface for all Windows and Linux systems?
Either way it does not seem right to try to add WMI Mapper to HP SIM, becau=
se WMI Mapper is not a layer on top, but would have to go underneath HP SIM=
, and I don't believe that would be possible?In fact I think it would confl=
ict with or duplicate the lower layer HP SIM already uses.
But again, that is from an old perspective that could no longer be valid.=
