It's time for This Week in OpenNMS <http://www.opennms.org/>. In the
last few weeks we worked on reporting, IPv6, remote poller maps, and a
lot of bug fixes and cleanups.


  Project Updates

    * 1.8: Current Release is 1.8.5 (Plover)
      1.8.5

      the current stable release, tagged 13 October 2010. For a complete
      list of changes and updates, see the "New and Noteworthy" page on

      As always, it is recommended that you back up your database before
      upgrading.
    * Seth did more work on IPv6 support in master, including adding
      support for IPv6 to the PL/PGSQL version of IPLIKE.
    * Matt did a little more work on Provisiond and detectors.
    * Jeff, Matt, Donald, Jonathan, and Ronny did a ton of work on the
      online reports, including adding a number of new default reports.
    * Ben did more work on integrating the system reports into the UI.
    * Ben updated the OpenLayers remote poller maps to use Open MapQuest
      <http://open.mapquest.co.uk/>'s much prettier tile set, as well as
      their geocoding server.
    * DJ worked on creating a more robust configuration file validator.
    * Lots of other bugfixes and such.


  Jasper Reports Updates

In the last couple of weeks, a ton of work went into updating the Jasper
Reports code, including modernizing to version 3.7.6, support for
parameters in reports, being able to use JRobin files as a datasource in
reports, and lots of other little things.

The reports that will be included in 1.8.7 are:

    * Availability by node - Past 7 Days
    * Availability by node - This Month
    * Availability Summary - Past 7 Days
    * Availability Summary - This Month
    * Response time by node
    * Response time by node - This Month
    * 95th Percentile Traffic Rate by Interface
    * 95th Percentile Traffic Rate by Interface - This Month
    * Total Bytes Transferred by Interface last seven days
