All, It would be nice to have dummy daemons for devlopment and testing. Those dummy daemons can have some sort of Swing interface where nodes can be played with. For example a dummy capsd can discover capabilities based on the GUI (where user may have changed capabilities of a certina node) I have not waded through all of OpenNMS code so this may already be present. So if some thing is already present of this sort (in terms of tests perhpas) it could be generalized. This IMO will help in further devlopment of OpenNMS. Dummy daemons can be used along the lines of spring dependecny injection. btw, I am a prospecitve student so ofcourse some would have to mentor this. :). Does this idea make any sesne?
