I haven't actually tried running all of the tests for all of OpenNMS at once, but if you need to run tests for a particular section (subdirectory within the main OpenNMS source dir) of OpenNMS, just cd into the directory and run
mvn test

And you can run individual tests if you know the names of the test classes by doing
mvn -Dtest=<name of test class> test
