[opennms-devel] snort integration

I want to integrate snort with opennms, but i have realized that i must use
snort 1.8.x (because newer versions don´t have snmp traps), and the actual
version is 2.8.x, so my question is if there is a another aplication like
snort (or if it is version snort 1.8.7 good enought) that i can integrate to
opennms so i can have security manegement
