+1 with the caveat that it should be for 1.8, sounds a bit too invasive
for a 1.6 point release.

On that note, we're looking at attempting to get a 1.6.1 release out
soon-ish, there are a couple of reasonably important bugfixes.

Should we also look at getting a trunk 1.7.0 unstable release out, just
so people can start evaluating some of the RESTful stuff, etc.?
