Hi Colin,

  If you're up for trying to help the community a bit with this, then I 
think it would be helpful to capture debug logs and some additional info 
to try and understand what's happening and why. Out of interest, have 
you changed any of the default settings in opennms.properties? In 
particular; the org.opennms.provisiond.repositoryImplementation setting, 
which has some experimental options that could misbehave.

I think it would be interesting to see which files exist (and their 
sizes, but no need to share the content) in /etc/foreign-sources and 
/etc/imports (plus the 'pending' directories), both at the point when 
the requisition contains all the hosts and after you've deleted them.

The other information I think would be invaluable would be to edit 
/etc/opennms/log4j2.xml and change the 'provisiond' setting from WARN to 
DEBUG - e.g.

<KeyValuePair key="provisiond"           value="DEBUG" />

Then wait a minute for Log4J to pick up the change (you can tail the 
/var/log/opennms/provisiond.log file to see if it's outputting messages 
with 'DEBUG'  in them) and then retry your deletion of the nodes and 
requisition. Once you've see them reappear in the Manage Provisioning 
Requisitions screen you can take a copy of 
/var/log/opennms/provisiond.log and revert the log4J config back to 'WARN'.

Please bear in mind that the debug log will contain hostnames and IP 
addresses  which you may wish to redact before sharing the log. 
Passwords, in theory, should not appear in this log.

Hopefully that log will provide some better insight into what is 
happening on your installation.
