Thanks Marc..  I finally got it to work... thanks for the config file...

one thing that is confusing to me...  I have two email accounts; one for
gmail and one for another email system.. What curious is that I have  it
currently set up to use my email account that is not gmail and yet  my
notifications are going to my gmail account in which i originally set this
up for...  I have stopped/started OpenNMS services several times but have
not rebooted the OS...
