Sorry but I never installed OpenNMS over Windows. Anyway, it should be very similar to Linux so just do a search on service order and it should be quite easy.

On the permanent fix, it is more like that the community is not concerned about security as we don't have SNMP v3 working as it should... OpenNMS is a great product but, at least for me, it lacks a lot of community support. As I could not get an answer from the forum I am now doing some tests on Nagios and ZenOSS.

Assunto: [opennms-discuss] SNMP v3 trapd

This is a resolution on the mailing list from Moacir.

Based on the information from this post
https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstackoverflow.com%2Fquestions%2F30586662%2Fsnmp-v3-trap-users-cleared-by-manager&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ca5152008f55f4534b5c008d54708d1b8%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636493025554041090&sdata=ULjdyJz5lc4JF2xm%2FR4R22dmgti%2BVheCl%2Ba4ikcq3k0%3D&reserved=0
I decided to give it a try and I changed the order when trapd will start
moving it to just after the Asterisk service (that in my case is
disabled). Now the trapd daemon will not loose the loaded credentials
and will decode properly the SNMP v3 trap.

I guess there must be a bug on the daemon but I am not sure if I should
post it on the "bug list". Also, if you need or want to use SHA with
AES256, then you will have to upgrade your Java JCE to "unlimited"
otherwise it does not work.

I have two questions.
Q1.Is there are more detail available to be able to change the start-up
order for OpenNMS for Windows as a workwaround
Q2.Is there any more information yet about a permanent fix for the
problem.

Thanks
Richard
