Hi all,

we use opennms to monitor some threashhold on routers.

Can someone please have a look at the following to see if we setup something wrong ?

The notifications.xml entry looks like this:

<notification name="High Threshold" status="on" writeable="yes">

<uei>uei.opennms.org/threshold/highThresholdExceeded</uei>

<description>A monitored device has hit a high threshold</description>

<rule>(IPADDR != '0.0.0.0' &amp; (catincbgp-routers))</rule>

<destinationPath>SMS_and_Mail</destinationPath>

<text-message>A Threshold has been exceeded on node: %nodelabel%, interface:%interface%. The parameter %parm[ds]% reached a value of %parm[value]% while the threshold is %parm[threshold]%. This alert will be rearmed when %parm[ds]% reaches %parm[rearm]%.</text-message>

<subject>Notice #%noticeid%: High Threshold for %parm[ds]% on node %nodelabel%.</subject>

</notification>

The textmessage that is send looks like this: (the red part)

A Threshold has been exceeded on node: BGP01, interface:w.x.y.z. The parameter ifOutOctets bin data deploy dump-2018-01-19_162250-040.zip etc instances jetty-webapps lib liste1 logs share system 8 / 1000000 / ifHighSpeed bin data deploy dump-2018-01-19_162250-040.zip etc instances jetty-webapps lib liste1 logs share system 100 reached a value of 97,88 while the threshold is 95.0. This alert will be rearmed when ifOutOctets bin data deploy dump-2018-01-19_162250-040.zip etc instances jetty-webapps lib liste1 logs share system 8 / 1000000 / ifHighSpeed bin data deploy dump-2018-01-19_162250-040.zip etc instances jetty-webapps lib liste1 logs share system 100 reaches 75.0.

Looks like %parm[ds]% includes a directory listing of $OPENNMS_HOME. But why ?

opennms-prod:/usr/share/opennms# ls

bin data deploy dump-2018-01-19_162250-040.zip etc instances jetty-webapps lib liste1 logs share system

Our system is:

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

OpenNMS V20.1.0

Regards

Norbert
