Re: Resource Graph behaviour change in V22

I’ve changed org.opennms.web.graphs.engine to ‘png’ and it has changed the look of the graphs back to the old version.  However, the zoom function that worked before ONS22 no longer works.

Yes, I think they are related. But I think that bug is incorrectly named.  It is more than just “The X axis resolution does not zoom correctly”  It is more a case of “zooming doesn’t correctly scale the graph.”

I also noticed that if you zoom out, it doesn’t populate the data outside the original x axis range.

You can revert to the older "png" engine by editing $OPENNMS_HOME/etc/opennms.properties, and setting org.opennms.web.graphs.engine to "png".

We’ve recently upgraded from 21.0.4 to 22, and I’ve noticed a change to how resource graph’s behave.

Previously, I could generate a graph for the previous week/month, and then zoom in on an “interesting” spike in the graph by clicking on the graph, and then dragging the mouse pointer over the relevant timeframe of the graph, and OpenNMS would then re-generate the graph with the selected timeframe, with an appropriately re-scaled Y axis.

Now I only seem to be able to “zoom” in on the graph by spinning the wheel on the mouse, but it is zooming both the x and Y axis, so by the time I’ve zoomed into the appropriate timeframe for the “interesting spike”, the y axis has also zoomed the same amount.  Eg:

Now I want to zoom on those spikes, but all I seem to be able to get is:

Both X and Y axis are zooming at exactly the same rate.

What I need is to be able to zoom the X axis, and have the y axis scale appropriately to the range of data for the currently visible X axis.

How do I get this functionality back?
