OpenNMS performance : SNMP trap processing

Hello, One of our clients needs an NMS which can process up to 50 SNMP traps per second. Do you think that OpenNMS can handle that load ? I am asking this question because I know there is a bottleneck here (the reason you are developing Sentinel).
