I'm new to OpenNMS, and it's working well for me. SNMP performance reports work well, as do SNMP events, but I have something else that I'm trying to accomplish, and I'm not sure if it's within the scope of OpenNMS. I would like to gather text based SNMP data and present it in a report periodically. For example, I would like to query UPSs for the last time they ran a self test. This returns a date as a string. A separate query returns the result of the self test as an integer. I would like to create a report once a month that lists all the UPSs and these results. Perhaps these values could be added to the node attributes, and a report created based on node attributes? If someone could point me in the right direction, or let me know if OpenNMS is not the right tool for this task, I would appreciate it.
