Can a packaging expert take a look at bug #3503?

I opened this bug about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had initially mis-assigned
the component. I think as webUI-Maps? Anyhow, the guy who got it
marked it as WONTFIX for two reasons. First, he didn't know what to
do with a Debian packaging error. Second, he couldn't see a real
problem anyhow since he thought all I needed was the .jar file.
There's more detail in the bug description.

I re-opened the bug, changed the component to Build/Packaging, and
attempted to reassign the bug to the default assignee for the selected
component about a week ago. Unfortunately, there's been no activity.
I'm concerned that the correct people don't even know the bug exists.

Please let me know what else I can do to help troubleshoot the problem.

TIA
