And sorry no this machine is in the dmz, wide open for testing. ________________________________ From: DJ Gregor <[email protected]> To: Installation questions and help <[email protected]> Sent: Mon Mar 15 15:45:40 2010 Subject: Re: [opennms-install] Integration with Hyperic Ouch! OpenNMS is apparently trying to fetch http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd from the Internet. That's definitely a bug--one that might have already been fixed. What version are you using? Check bugzilla.opennms.org and see if you can find an already existing bug for this problem (open or closed). Can your Opennms server reach the Internet? Is there possibly a proxy in the middle that is blocking outbound HTTP requests? Thanks for providing additional details--as you can tell, it really helps. :-) On Mar 15, 2010, at 4:30 PM, "Steven Lamczyk" <[email protected]> wrote: Thank you for the response I am very new to lists and don’t really know what I am doing. Your stated problem is effectively: "I did something big and complex, and now when I do X, it breaks." That's not enough detail for us to help you, unless you are lucky enough for someone who has seen that exact problem to read your email. It sounds like OpenNMS gave you a specific error--that would be an extremely good thing to share. Also, knowing what steps you took up to this point would be good, particularly what config files you changed ("diff -u" is your friend). Here are some good guidelines when asking for help: <http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#beprecise> http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#beprecise On Mar 15, 2010, at 12:57 PM, "Steven Lamczyk" < <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]> wrote: I am having a ton of problems trying to integrate the two, basically I went through the PDF and did everything I can think of there, and now when I go into admin in opennms, and choose provisioning groups, it bombs with an error.
