The other Java application is starting up and trying to initialize an RMI service to the same interface and port that OpenNMS is using (the default one). OpenNMS is catching this exception during startup and exiting. We probably should not do that and just throw a WARN in the logs and keep starting since that service is not required. However, you do this: cat "MANAGER_OPTIONS=""" >> /opt/opennms/etc/opennms.conf and restart. That should prevent OpenNMS from initializing the RMI service. -David Hustace The OpenNMS Group, Inc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start uncovering the many advantages of virtual appliances and start using them to simplify application deployment and accelerate your shift to cloud computing. http://p.sf.net/sfu/novell-sfdev2dev _______________________________________________ Please read the OpenNMS Mailing List FAQ: http://www.opennms.org/index.php/Mailing_List_FAQ opennms-install mailing list To *unsubscribe* or change your subscription options, see the bottom of this page: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/opennms-install
