Just curious, but why 1.0.8?  JICMP is on (as of this morning) 1.0.12,
and 1.0.11 has been around since February or something like that.

Might try with the latest release first, mostly build system fixes.
(Although the -m32 thing will probably have to be explicitly handled
differently if ARM gcc doesn't support specifying cpu bittedness).
