Rather, if you *delete* a discovered node, you remove any data OpenNMS might have had about the node, and when the node answers the discovery ping, it is re-discovered. The correct way to keep nodes out of OpenNMS's view is to set the unwanted nodes as unmanaged, aka 'forcibly unmanage'. - Peter -- Peter N. M.
