You can specify on a per host or per IP address range basis what SNMP communities to use (under the Admin menu somewhere, I'm away from my monitoring rig at the moment). That should take care of the main issue, you may still need to fiddle with unmanaging, but specifying SNMP communities would normally take care of a lot.
