FreeBSD install - ready for prime time?

FreeBSD has been my *nix flavor of choice for quite a while, but I've
always OpenNMS on Centos because java, OpenNMS packages, and OpenNMS
documentation for FreeBSD seemed to lag behind that of the the major
Linux releases.
I now have an opportunity to install OpenNMS from scratch on brand-new
hardware with whatever OS I want, and no need to migrate data from my
legacy install.
Is the OpenNMS package for FreeBSD now ready for prime-time? Are there
any docs with the specific issues for installing under FreeBSD, or list
of known issues (preferably accompanied by fixes)?
