I am trying to get OpenNMS installed onto CentOS 5.2 or CentOS 6.3 and have
run into the same problem on both. I believe I have followed the
instructions correctly IAW http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation:Yum.

[root@localhost ~]# service opennms -v start
Starting OpenNMS: Could not connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 8181 (OpenNMS
might not be running or could be starting up or shutting down): Connection
refused
Could not connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 8181 (OpenNMS might not be running
or could be starting up or shutting down): Connection refused

-----
The following was seen when attempting to connect to
http://127.0.0.1:8980/opennms/
HTTP ERROR 404

Problem accessing /openms/. Reason:
    Not Found

Powered by Jetty://
-----
Both installations were VMs w/ 2+ GB of RAM where top indicated that there
was still plenty of RAM available after having attempted to start OpenNMS.
These a vanilla installations with no customization either on the OS or
the OpenNMS side. For each attempt, the associate repo for the
distribution was selected. In reviewing the logs (i.e. jetty.log, misc.log
and manager.log did not seem to indicate any issues. I tried to google a
solution but was unsuccessful in finding anything that worked. Any
assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
  D. Chaloupka
