Howto Install Remote Poller with Functional OpenNMS

I am having some difficulties finding Instructions on fairly recent how to install a Remote Poller with OpenNMS.  Any guide would be helpful but I am finding the documentation that I can find to be rather sparse which is surprising for such a great product.
We have OpenNMS v/ 1.12.5 installed and functioning well running on Ubuntu.  I want to install a remote poller on Windows 2008 Server running on a remote site.
I am hoping to collect data from the perspective of the remote site then report back to our main OpenNMS Server.  This will help determine that internal SLAs are met from a client perspective.
Does anyone have any links to a good guide?  If there isn't one then I'd be happy to contribute one, once I have everything completed.
