Put you wrong slightly.....can't test local host because it's Ubuntu server (I was thinking of another server). Using t4eportping I can "ping" tcp/8980 on the opennms from my PC but can't 80/443 so it appears that the web (Tomcart?) server is not running/responding. Its in the DMZ but I'm pretty sure my VLAN has unrestricted acres to it. I'll check when I get to the office shortly. But the web page also doesn't work on the localhost which rules out any firewall. And the service says its not running. Sent from a mobile device. Ron From: Steve Maunsell [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2015 11:33 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: [opennms-install] New install won't start I have just installed OpenNMS on Ubuntu 14.04 following http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation:Debian but after completed it I cannot access the web page. During the installation I noticed that sudo $OPENNMS_HOME/bin/runjava -s didn't run. I had to run sudo /usr/share/opennms/bin/runjava -s to get it to work. Whether that's the issue I don't know. Running sudo openmns -v status shows all services as 'running'. Running service -status all shows that the OpenNMS service is not running. Running sudo service opennms start says that 'OpenNMS is already running'. I have left this for a long time but still get nothing when trying the web page. I have restarted the server numerous times. I've seen that sometimes it can take a long time to start if there's a large database but this is brand new. Why isn't it running?
