I wouldn't use CentOS or any other OS aside from the one they use in the tutorial which I think is Uubuntu 16.xx. I had no problems with that OS at all.

Subject: [opennms-install] Install fails

I installed 18.0.0 on a CentOS 6 VM. /opt/opennms/bin/install -dis
fails with a Java dump. This VM is not connected to the Internet, so I
can't copy and paste, but the main beef is:

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgum,entException: Could not unmarshal
org.opennms.netmgt.config.opennmsDataSources.DataSourceConfiguration

There are also a couple of references to:

The reference to entity "I" must end with the ';' delimiter.

There are no semicolons in /opt/opennms/etc/opennms-datasources.xml

I can connect to the opennms database as my opennms user, so that isn't
the issue.
