Well, the situation's not as bad as it *used* to be, but still: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size#/media/File:A_size_illustration2_with_letter_and_legal.svg There are printers that outright *refuse* to print out a PDF stating a sheet size different from the paper actually sitting in the tray, etc..
