The code is a bit complex to read and I'm not sure I do understand it
(and maybe we broke it at some point).
The idea is that you can set "--persist-remote-ip" to actually cache
the remote, and have it re-resolve on reconnect otherwise.
But maybe we broke it... Arne knows. But he's not reading -users, so
if "--persist-remote-ip" is not changing anything, please open a GH issue
with logs :-)
