openvpn-users@ is totally the wrong forum to report bugs - the developers
are over there in openvpn-devel@, and no *users* in here can fix that.

This particular issue has already been reported by Debian, in

  https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn/issues/995

Nobody had time to diagnose it yet, and come up with a fix.
