I disagree here. OpenVPN ist used (in its commercial branch or the 
community one) by many companies due to its flexibility; if you run this 
service on a well-known tcp port (psst! dont tell...) your problems with 
VPN connectivity from hotels, open WLANs etc are history. But most of 
these companies also have a policy to reject mobile devices that have 
"been tampered with". That does not mean I would have a problem using a 
jailbroken iphone, but many people who would want to use it cannot. So 
they are stuck with IPSec or PPTP at the moment. Besides that, there are 
several tools that make a connection from a jailbroken iphone to a 
OpenVPN server, so there is no need to develop more of these. My comment 
was on non-jailbroken phones and there I still think it will neither 
help to contact apple nor the OpenVPN people.
