Agreed.  I've reviewed a few.  For the rest, I don't mind that the tar
ball and git differ.

It only exists so that I can locally package for deployment across my
test setup, which is Debian based.  It isn't for use by the Debian
Project.  I was surprised it still worked.  I'll see what I can do to
cut it down ... done, by borrowing your work and trimming it a bit to
meet my needs.
