TJ, I do have openssl installed and up to date. I was able to compile the old version just fine with this setup. So I am not sure what changed. Benny, I am sorry I am not more open source minded.... I am just a user that wants to run a ftp server. I don't really want to be a developer. Not all liunx users are tech wizards.. some of us just want to use the OS and not have to build stuff from scratch. I think that is reasonable. I would love if there was a premade package so I didn't have to deal with this . I don't know how to build srpm. You say not to mix apt-get and wget. Ok so how do I add the mysql libs if I don't use aptget to get the package? You say not what To do but you don't offer a solution. Thanks.. I will stay with the old version I have I just hope it runs on 20.04 as it was built on 18.04. BTW the product is fantastic and rock solid. Later...
