TJ,

I do have openssl installed and up to date. I was able to compile the old
version just fine with this setup. So I am not sure what changed.

Benny,

I am sorry I am not more open source minded.... I am just a user that
wants to run a ftp server. I don't really want to be a developer.
Not all liunx users are tech wizards.. some of us just want to use the OS
and not have to build stuff from scratch. I think that is reasonable.
I would love if there was a premade package so I didn't have to deal with
this . I don't know how to build srpm.
You say not to mix apt-get and wget. Ok so how do I add the mysql libs
if I don't use aptget to get the package? You say not what
To do but you don't offer a solution.

Thanks.. I will stay with the old version I have I just hope it runs on
20.04 as it was built on 18.04. BTW the product is fantastic and rock
solid.

Later...

no, it will fail if this libs on dependice is upgraded

i will repeat do not mix apt-get and wget && make install

make a srpm from tarball, and compile it as a rpm so it will not break
redhat / ubuntu precompiled problems

if linux users was just more open source minded, problem would have not
existed
