Hi all, I have figured out how to get TLS authentication working. But
README.TLS seems to say that the data itself is not encrypted
("However, the data channel is not affected by SSL/TLS."). Is this
correct? I am hoping to encrypt *everything*, not just commands.
Also, I am trying to use FileZilla to connect, but it gives me the error:
Response: 150 Connecting to port 3455
Error: Can't establish SSL connection
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
This seems to suggest that FTP-SSL *does* support encrypted data
channels, right? (Since it's connecting to another port for the
encrypted data channel.) Also,
ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc4217.txt
suggests the same.
So is it possible to get a secure data channel using pure-ftpd? If
not, can anyone suggest another easy-to-use (but featureful) FTP
server that supports encrypted data? (I guess if there's nothing else
out there, I'll resort to SFTP, which sucks since it has nothing in
terms of features.)
Thanks in advance.
