ok, you shouldn't be doing any manual symlinking of init scripts.  Suse has=
 a=20
tool called 'chkconfig' which, given a properly set up init script (add two=
=20
lines near the top of the file) will automatically set up your runlevels fo=
r=20
you.

Try simply: chkconfig pure-ftp on

for more information about chkconfig please see your OS documentation.
