Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Charlie B (cb20777) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: rdesktop requires /dev/dsp Initial Comment: In transitioning from Centos 5.3 to Fedora 11, my rdesktop setup stopped redirecting sound to the client. It emits the following 2 error messages: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory WARNING: no working audio-driver found My assumption is that rdesktop is still using the /dev/dsp device, and F11 has apparently dropped that entirely as they have migrated to pulseaudio. I found a partial workaround is to invoke rdesktop via the "padsp" wrapper. But its not clear how to do this with tsclient (other than actually replacing rdesktop itself with a wrapper script or something messy and fragile). Am I missing something subtle? Does rdesktop really require /dev/dsp, or is that just its first choice? In any event, I think the Ubuntu folks have done something to fix this problem. Any chance of getting it pulled upstream? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2009-07-01 13:59 Message: bump ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=381347&aid=2806356&group_id=24366 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
