can i jump in with a question? Has the status of Microsoft document

been discussed? Am i allowed to know, or even to use the information
in there for
purposes of OS development?

If this information especially pages 27-28 is copyrighted/patented,
somebody might have
to come up with a scheme to figure out the protocol from dumps. It seems to be
necessary for successful RDP connections to some proxys/brokers.

We have a customer with some 20 Linux Thin clients who wants to move
from Terminal
server to a Sun/Oracle VDI solution. Running some preliminary tests,
we noticed, that
Linux based clients could not connect to VDI, whereas XP and even CE
clients did.

Even full Linux Workstations could not connect, so i decided to locate
the problem.
This proved to be surprisingly easy, and almost as easy to fix, using
the information
in above document. So this is, where i became suspicious. Am i, or are
you legally
forbidden to use the information in the Microsoft document?

I have successfully tested a simple redirect token modification against
rdesktop 1.6.0 stable.
I can provide diffs for regression or build tests. I can not provide a test case
for the mod.
