Initial Comment:
Since I have some windows machines with right-haned mice and the linux box on my desk is has a left-handed mouse the button remapping introduced recently is quite distracting for me. I have a patch that "fixes" this for me. It simple turns of the remapping.

Howerver, I think the most reasonable approach in the future would be to introduce some more advanced remapping scheme in rdesktop.

Add my vote for inclusion of this patch in the next version.  I always
compile this into rdesktop.

It would be great to get left handed support.  It is confusing experience
when (at home) I can finally use a left handed setup and then click on RDP
session and it switches to right-handed.

I have an updated version of the earlier "-l" mouse button, but I'm willing
to try using -M.  I would suggest an update to the man page as part of your
patch.  For the -l patch I have
