Hi all,
We have been having some sound issues using rdesktop over our network (especially with lots of screen updates coming at the same time), and we thought we might have a try at using a sound format other than WAVE_FORMAT_PCM so that the sound takes up less bandwidth and see if that makes a difference. For instance, our Windows terminal server advertises that it can do MS ADPCM, among others (Windows Server 2008 R2). However, if I tell the server that the rdesktop client does only WAVE_FORMAT_ADPCM, I get the ping back from the server, but then nothing after that. It doesn't seem like rdpsnd_process_packet() is called again. So I haven't started doing anything to try to decode sound in a different format, because we're having trouble even receiving the packet. I was wondering if anyone else ha
s explored this kind of thing before? No use barking up the wrong tree if it's already been done...
Michael
