$ rdesktop -d rimsco -u "admin" -p pass -g 90% 192.168.1.3
Autoselected keyboard map ru

When I remove ~/.rdesktop/license.<hostname> I can connect ONLY ONE TIME, and after disconnect it fail again.

Message:
Our workaround is like the one from xmasterx but without the requirement of
root rights
Remove/Delete the ".rdesktop"-directory
# rm -rf ~/.rdesktop
and create a _file_
# touch ~/.rdesktop
rdesktop will complain that
/home/<user>/.rdesktop
is not a directory but it will continue without writing the license file
:)

Message:
I have the same problem. I can only connect once… Then I have the :
Internal licensing error.
But the distribution for Igel Thinclients use rdesktop version 1.6.0.5 and
they have no problem to connect to a licensed windows 2008 server.
Is a official Patch existing?
Thanks

Message:
The workarround that I find, until a patch for this bug is released, is to
do:
# chown -R root.root /home/<username-with-problems-here>/.rdesktop
and just is case:
# chmod -R 444 /home/<username-with-problems-here>/.rdesktop
then just delete the license.<hostname> file and it work like a charm :D
I'm using rdesktop 1.6.0 with Ubuntu 9.04, trying to connect to a Windows
2008 Enterprise 32bit Portuguese with SP2.

I checked in [MS-RDPELE] and I found this on page 82:
"<1> Section 1.3.3.3: The License PDU flow for personal terminal servers
described in this section is
valid for only Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 client operating
systems. Similarly, the
licensing architecture (section 1.3.1) and license PDU flow (section
1.3.3) for personal terminal
servers exist in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 client operating
systems only.
For previous versions of Windows, the personal terminal server does not
require a CAL and sends a
license error message (see [MS-RDPBCGR] section 2.2.1.12.1.3) with the
dwErrorCode field set to
STATUS_VALID_CLIENT (0x00000007)."
This most likely is the source of the problem.
