Hi all, I have a problem with getting sound to work when I connect to my XP machine using rdesktop 1.4. I have used both "-r sound:local" as "-r sound:remote" but neither one is working for me. The reason I use rdesktop 1.4 is that I use Feather linux on an USB memory stick in a thinclient. I don't know how I can compile 1.5 on feather since everything is stripped out to keep the distro small. But I beleive sound should be working in 1.4 as well. Sound is not a problem on the thinclient itself, it plays internetradio just fine. When I've connected with rdesktop to my XP machine it does show a volume icon in the systray. When I right click it and select properties the sound volume is set all the way to the left, so there is no sound. When I move the slidebar to the right to increase volume and press apply it jups back all the way to the left :-S When I try to play a simple wav file it says the file may be corrupt. I have tried connecting to my windows 2003 server sound also does not work there but it gerenates a different error when I try to play a wav file. Perhaps it helps figuring out what is wrong. Bad direct sound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Errorcode: 887800A One more thing, I have tried connecting from my laptop to both the XP as the 2003 machine with working sound. I truly hope one of u guys can help me out here.
