rdesktop performance very slow

Hi,

I would like to know about rdesktop performance.

I have a user running rdesktop (1.6.0) and at server side Oracle 10G base
data forms. In this remote application some java script banner is running on
the top of the form. User is reporting very slow performance over RDP. My
host system is 256MB RAM and 500MHz cpu.

I would like to know what all parameters can influence rdesktop performance.


My assumption till now is

1. Network speed (but in my case it can be ruled out, as I have come to know
there some other products are having no issues in rdesktop at same
environment)

2. local graphics rendring speed (depends on graphics driver. I am using
vesa)


Questions:

1. Are there any patches which will improve rdesktop performance ?

2. Does the local system speed (500MHz) can also cause issues on performance
?
