I wouldn't use Windows Server 2008.  It's not properly supported yet.  I don't think licensing even works.

What about licensing ?

Is the client license needed ?

That's not very clear.

I was trying to figure out if the win 2008 server license is all i
need or if additional per user/ machine licenses are needed.
