Firstly, I have to refer you to man page: $ man rdesktop And also run rdesktop without any switches to see an excellent list of switches available: $ rdesktop In particular you are looking for the "-r" switch, e.g. $ rdesktop -r disk:anyname=/home/user/folder Replace "anyname" with the name of the share as it appears under Windows, and the path to any directory to which the user has access, even the home directory should work fine. This will basically mount a network share under windows, that you can browse and drag/drop between, in the way that you are wanting, simply via "My Computer". There may be oddities about 2008 server, but generally that is how you would do it, and it works beautifully in my experience.
